Here is an awesome text effect that looks difficult, but is pretty simple.

Identify 5 things learned about using Photoshop and Illustrator together

Place PSD file in Illustrator as smart object so whatever you do to the image in Photoshop will change up in illustrator.

Blend modes: most are the same in Photoshop and Illustrator. Use them to get really good effects and realistic looks.

Build no fill, no stroke bounding boxes in both Photoshop and Illustrator so when you place a smart object it will place exactly over the other one and you do not have to adjust the image to make it fit.

When you adjust the text color or anything in Illustrator you must save before the change appears on the Photoshop file.

You can record actions and this will save time to edit a lot of photos the same way.
